The Grasmere Hotel is the perfect place to tie the knot. We cater for small intimate weddings (up to 26 guests) that are tailor-made to suit any budget. The hotel can be hired out exclusively, or arranged with accommodation, dinner and hire of ceremonial room. We can also accommodate for elopements according to availability.

N.B As this is a family occasion, we invite children to attend exclusive weddings but cannot offer accommodation or allow children on the premises after 7 pm. Due to the nature of the building and the grounds, children must be kept under strict supervision.

Intimate Dining

Our 26-cover Taste of Grasmere restaurant can be reserved for private wedding breakfasts and celebration dinners. Fresh, local Lakeland produce — menus tailored entirely to you.

Garden Ceremonies

We have a licensed outdoor space beside the River Rothay — one of the most beautiful spots in Grasmere. Say your vows with the fells as your backdrop, or host a marquee on the lawn.

Decided to just do it? Good. We love a last-minute wedding. Whether you’re eloping with two witnesses or gathering a small group at short notice, we’ll move quickly and make it feel like it was always the plan.
